Tiered Cakes 101 Skill Set: must have general knowledge of basic cake decorating (simple piping, applying buttercream to a single tiered cake) Students 12 years and older welcomed Student Fee: $225 (payment plan offered, just purchase deposit ticket of $50 and follow instructions) All supplies included.
This class will be FULLY LOADED!!!
This is for the person who has done cakes for a while and wants to sharpen their skills. You will learn everything from planning the design and serving size to the appropriate recipes for the size cake you have chosen. You will learn about structural supports and how to transport cakes in any size. For those that want to profit off their love of baking and cake decorating you will also learn about pricing and the cottage food laws in Louisiana along with an intro into food safety. Along with these topics of discussion and a few demos, each student will design their own 2-tiered cake (following a list of parameters) break it down to serving sizes, price it and then execute it in real cake. We will stack it and decorate it (limited to fondant, gum paste, lace accents)
